Clarice Collins Scott, 59, of Dayton, Ohio passed away on November 21, 2021, in her residence. She was born on December 20, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Clarence C. Collins and Earlene W. Collins Percy. She graduated from Colonel White H.S. in Dayton, Ohio. “Clay” as she was affectionately called was a member of the National Honor Society, 4-year band member, volleyball team, softball, and track. She received scholarships to Boston College and Wright State University. Her goal was to fly the friendly skies. So, she enrolled in the Flight Attendant School. Upon graduation, she was employed by USAIR that became US AIRWAYS that merged with American Airlines. Clarice retired after 35 years of service. She was an adventurous person who loved to travel. Her exploits took her to climb trees in the rain forest of Costa Rico, whale watching in Hawaii, walking in the holding pins in Africa where slaves were kept before being shipped to America. Clarice even sat in the World Court at the Hague to the Netherlands. She was gracious and giving and always offered to help.
On August 23, 1999, she became the wife of Davin G. Scott. To that union, their family grew to two sons, Ian, Devin Jr., and daughter Brittney Hall (Cordell). She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Devin, sons, Ian and Devin Jr. daughter, Brittney Hall (Cordell) grandson, Carlo Hall, brother, Sean Collins of Lynchburg, Va. Father, Clarence Collins, (Debra), mother, Earlene W. Percy (James), Sister, Carlene Collins-Taylor (Jerry). “Special Sister” Vanessa London of Chicago, Il. Two devoted Godsons: Ray Robinson, Jr. and Kenyan Carter of Dayton, Ohio. Mother-in-Law, Geraldine D. Williams, (Samuel), Brother-in-Law, Jeffrey A. Anderson, Sister-in-Law Emily S. Anderson, of Detroit, Michigan. Three nieces whom she loved dearly Charisse Watson of Huston, Texas, Hali Collins and Cara Millerton, and nephew James Millerton, III. Her best friends for life, Markita Robinson-Elaine Carter and Yvonne Smith of Dayton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles and Blonzy Watkins, her son Alex Collins. Her aunts Charlene, Florence, and her uncles Joel, Dan, Roosevelt, John, Allen, Ellis, and Aaron. Services will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021, at Greater Prayer Garden C.O.G.I.C 600 Shiloh Springs Road, Dayton Ohio. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service which will be at 12 Noon with Pastor Howard D. McMahon officiating. Rev. Richard Allen Williams, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Shiloh Park Cemetery. Social Distancing protocol will be observed, and a face mask will be required. Arrangements entrusted to Porter-Qualls-Freeman Funeral Home.
