Clarinda Jackson Obituary

On Monday, March 29, 2021, in the comfort of her home God called Clarinda to her heavenly reward. She was 71 years old. Clarinda J. Jackson was born on April 30, 1949, in Springfield, Ohio.  She was the only daughter of Edgar Berry Jr. and Clara Jane (Cordell), Berry. Clarinda was employed as an Office Equipment Specialist for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (AFB) for over 30 years. She had such a rewarding career, but what she cherished and loved most was spending time with her family, engaging in charity work, and shopping. She was a member of Phillips Chapel CME Church where she served on the Steward Committee, the Missionary Board, and facilitated the Vacation Bible School for several years. Clarinda was also active in social/community activates with her membership in the Les Femmes Des Charity. This is a nonprofit charity that provides scholarships to African American High School students who are college-bound, from the Clark County area in Springfield, Ohio. This organization was founded in 1947. Certainly, she was following her mother’s example of extending oneself to your community. Affectionately called by us as (Mom), she truly loved her family and was always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her absence will leave a void in our lives. She will be truly missed, along with our special conversations, and her wise advice and guidance. Clarinda leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory: her husband of 51 years, Gaylon H. Jackson, four children: Gaylon (Jacqueline) of Springfield, OH, Shawn (Tina) of Lima, OH, Rashida of Grapevine, TX, and Jamila Jackson of Springfield, OH; four grandchildren: Kristopher, Kayela, Katie, and Johnni Rae Jackson, and a host of great-grandchildren, cousins, and friends. To share time and space with those you love is a wonderful, outstanding gift of life.  Her love and kind spirit will be deeply missed but will live on forever in everyone she touched. We love you, Mom.
