Darryl Eugene Stamper Jr. was born February 10, 1981, to Joanna K. Stamper & the late Darryl E. Stamper Sr. in Springfield, Ohio. At a tender age DJ was baptized at Greater First Baptist Church where his love for God started. As a young child Darryl was always silly, intellectual, competitive & athletic. Darryl had a special love for sports & he was a true lover of football and track & field. In high school Darryl led his school to the states and was featured on the front sports page of the Atlanta Journal Constitution where they called him the “Sandman” for having the highest long & triple jump. In 1999 Darryl graduated from Harper-Archer High School in Atlanta, GA. Darryl has always been known as a devoted Michigan Wolverine fan and a faithful Turkey bowl participant, whenever he was around for Thanksgiving.
In his spare time over the years, he enjoyed giving back to others & taking care of his family. He was a hard-worker, loyal friend, devoted father, and a lover of family. Darryl will always be remembered for his big heart, his unforgettable laugh, his detailed stories, his humor, and his beautiful smile. DJ’s humor was his superpower!
On January 1,2023 at the age of 41, Darryl received is wings to eternal life. Darryl will be deeply missed but thank you God for every memory. We will always remember him by his kindness, dedication, loyalty, humor, playing his numbers and being a Michigan Wolverine’s #1 fan.
Darryl is survived by his mother Joanna K Stamper, his three children Devin Stamper, Dakyliah Stamper, Michael “Dillian” Stamper; his siblings Damira (Shannon) Bullock, D’Andre Stamper & Dania Stamper; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephew, and close friends.
