Dr. Joseph Lindell Anthony (Joe), was born June 22, 1928, to Okey and Fanny Anthony in Ashland, Kentucky.  He returned home to the hands of our Heavenly Father on September 3, 2020 at the age of 92.Dr. Anthony was always a man of service.  Upon graduating from Booker T. Washington H.S. in Ashland, Dr. Anthony served in the United States Air Force from 1946 – 1949, before attending Tennessee State University. He spent a lifetime serving in the Educational Community.  Receiving his B.S. Degree in Biology from Tennessee State University in 1954, a Master’s Degree in Science Teaching from Antioch College in 1969 and Ph.D in Educational Policy from the University of Oregon in1980, his personal academic achievements allowed him to successfully guide, shape and inspire the minds of his students across decades whether from his time as a Science Teacher in Mississippi, Tennessee and Ohio, serving as the Principal of Yellow Springs H.S., through his time as an Administrator at several institutions of higher learning to include Central State and Wilberforce Universities. Dr. Anthony has always been a man of many talents and interests.  Many of his hobbies included Touring and Camping in his precious “Winnie” with his family and loved ones, exploring, and experiencing the many wonderful things this world has to offer. He also had a deep appreciation for Antique and Classic Cars which fueled his ever-expanding Model Car collection displayed in his home.  As a long-standing retiree, Dr. Anthony continued to travel and experience the world but maintained his service to the community through several Professional and Social organizations including the American Assn. of College Administration; Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.; Phi Delta Kappa International Fraternity; Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society and several other community focused organizations. His love and dedication to the community was only overshadowed by his love for his family.Dr. Anthony leaves to cherish his life and memory, Marjorie Anthony, his wife of sixty-five years; their two children, Joel D.
