Frances M. (Dixon) Burton, born March 21, 1935, went home to be with the Lord on September 23, 2021. Frances retired as a daycare provider for the Department of Job and Family Services. Frances Burton was known for her feisty tell-it like it is personally. She loved to cook, bake, watch musicals, play Bingo, and read romance novels. She loved all of her family dearly and always looked forward to family gatherings. Frances was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board of the choir. France was proceeded in death by her father and mother, Lee, and Virginia (Rice) Dixon; her husband, Howard Burton Sr; sons, Howard Burton Jr, Curtis Burton; Sisters, Patricia Redding, Maxine Harris; brothers, Lloyd Dixon, Benjamin Dixon, Millard Dixon, Richard “Dickie” Dixon; Grandsons, Juan Lee Burton Sr, Juan Lee “Compton” Burton Jr. She is survived by her sister, Mary Butler; daughters, Lavonne Gilbreath, Lisa Burton, Jeannine Burton, Margaret Fultz (adopted); Twenty grandchildren; Fifty-eight great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
