Joe Jackson Obituary

Joe Jackson, 84, of Springfield, Ohio, departed this life and transitioned into eternal life on Monday, February 10, 2020 in the comfort of his own home surrounded by love. He was born November 29,1935 in Louisville, Mississippi, to the late Mack and Bertha (Nunn) Jackson. He was married to Cindy Jackson for 36 wonderful years.

Joe was a man of great faith who lived a long fruitful life, a loving husband and father to his daughters. Joe was well-known as a giver and provider. He made sure those around him near and far never went without. His famous line to say was, “If I got it, you got it!” Joe enjoyed spending time fishing with friends and teaching grandkids how to fish. He loved going to racetracks and casinos. Joe was always up for a card game of spades or Bid Wiz, or a game of checkers. He was a road warrior who drove countless hours back and forth to Rock Island, IL and Louisville, MS., to visit family. Joe loved his family, he kept in touch with all his relatives, and enjoyed talking and sharing stories. Joe retried from Navistar International Harvester after 46 years as an Assembly Worker. If Joe was not fishing, traveling, playing cards or gambling, he was spending time with his daughters and supporting his grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memory daughters; Nancy (Clifford) Eichelberger of Louisville, MS, Gayla Holtam of Moline, IL, Bernadette (O’Neal) Howard, Nicole (David Sanford) Jackson, Felicia (Derrick) Miller, Joh Anna Jackson, Amanda (Nastashja Roberson) Jackson all of Springfield, OH. Brother Phillip (Peggy) Jackson of East Moline, IL.  Sisters and Brothers-in-Law; Judy (Gilbert) Sanchez, of Oklahoma, Linda (Herbie) Mitchell of Missouri, Michelle (Michelle) Houzenga of Iowa, Robert (Elder) Mowery of Texas, and Charlie Doss of Louisville, MS.

15 grandchildren Don’Taisha Greene, Myron Colvin, Jr, Ta’Leaha and David "Bubby" Sanford, Jordan Howard, Shawn Terhune, Jr, Derrick, Jr and Derreon Miller, Ambriel Williams, Cin’Niyah Sanford, Clifford Eichelberger, Jr, Shawn, Shawna, and Chozan Krakliow, and Elijah Andrews as well as 3 great-grandchildren; Royal and Major Krakliow and Caiden Eichelberger. He also leaves special friends Carla Moss, Lenny Wells, Bill Sykes, Leon McCoun, Jimmy Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, close relatives and friends.
