Michael Leon Peterson Sr. "Uncle Mike"

75, peacefully slipped into eternity surrounded by family, Sunday, February 12, 2023.  Michael was born June 15, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Kenneth B. and Clyle Peterson. Michael was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and cousin and was known to all as “Uncle Mike”.  Michael loved to travel, he enjoyed sports and was a Pittsburg Steelers fan through and through.  In his younger years, you could find him at the softball field doing what he loved, playing 3rd base.  Mike later went on to coach his sons and nephews.  Mike “The Cool Uncle” will be greatly missed by all.

Michael is survived by sons, Michael Jr. (Micah) of Urbana, OH, Craig (Angie) Peterson, Tony (Missy) Williams, and James “Buster” Peterson; Daughter, Shelly Peterson-Browning all of Springfield.  Brother, Delbert (Gladys) Peterson of Dayton, OH; Sisters, Dianne Peterson-Brown and Sharon Peterson-Williams both of Springfield. Granddaughter, Alexis Peterson; Grandsons, Jermaine and Jerome Peterson, James “Jay” Williams, Justin, Michael III, and Mekhi Peterson; eight great-grandchildren; one aunt, Una Peterson; special niece Tina Peterson of Tucson, AZ; special nephew Cecil Pratt; great-niece Makenzie Williams, great-nephew Izaiah Williams; and lifelong friend Carleton Clark Abdullah.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; Kenneth and Clyle Peterson; brothers, David and Kenneth Peterson; sister, Margaret Ann Peterson-Perrin; best friend, Robert “Bobby” Henry.
