Oscar Baccus Jr. was born in Cleveland County North Carolina on December 3, 1935, to the late Sunnie Oscar Baccus and Carrie Belle Baccus. He was preceded in death by his son Jephthae Sheridan Baccus, his sister Velma Lowder, brother Barry Franklyn Baccus, Sr, and brother Eddie C. Baccus Sr. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Rev. Barbara Jean Baccus, son Edward E. Baccus, son Timothy O. Baccus (Glenna), daughter Beverly K. Knox (Ezra), son Damion Baccus Sr, daughter Gillyan Baccus, daughter Shavontae Baccus, and Stepdaughter Jacqueline S. Hoggins. Four sisters, Vernell Taylor, Jeanette Sims, Carolyn Martin (Henry) Phoebe Carter (Leavelle), and two brothers Roger Baccus and Kenneth Baccus, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was a Master brick mason for many years and worked at General Motors until his retirement. He sat on many boards and taught at Antioch College. He cared for many at-risk children through the Montgomery County Childrens Services. He was a firm believer in Jesus Christ and studied the Word of God without ceasing. He was an active member of the United AME Church.
